Zhamina Faulkner
This year has been challenging for Zhamina due to the COVID-19 regulations. It was unfortunate that she had to spend her senior year at home and was stripped from her senior year experience. However, Zhamina did not want this situation to hold her back from getting into her dream school, Barnard College at Columbia University. With the help of P.A.C.E, Zhamina received additional SAT Prep, which improved her scores. Now Zhamina can proudly say that she will be a student at Barnard College in the Fall semester of 2021.
Her Story
When Zhamina came to P.A.C.E, she knew she wanted to become a professional actress. However, when it came to college she had no clue where to start and she lacked self-confidence.
“When I first began applying I just wanted to cry. I didn’t actually believe I was good enough to be accepted anywhere.”
P.A.C.E appointed Zhamina with a personal college counselor for 4 weeks to help prepare her for the SAT, help her with the college application process, and her Personal Statement. Zhamina raised her SAT score by over 100 points, drastically improved her Personal Statement, and by the end was confident to apply to school.
Zhamina was accepted to Barnard College at Columbia University, one of the most prestigious Ivy leagues in the Country.
